Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo could potentially be traded to the Panthers.
"Unless Roberto tears it up this year the most likely scenario in the entire NHL for next summer would be a Luongo trade to Florida," a source told Hockey Buzz.
After the 11-12 season, Luongo's untradeable contract will become less burdensome.
Tomas Vokoun may sign a short term deal with the Panthers, leaving open the possibility of acquiring Luongo via trade.

Smyth Trade To Oilers Not Completed Yet
The Ryan Smyth saga continued to drag on through the end of the NHL draft Saturday with no end in sight.
The winger has asked for a trade out of L.A. for family reasons. Smyth, who has one more year left on his contract, has asked to be traded back to his original NHL team, the Oilers.
But L.A. GM Dean Lombardi said Saturday there are still complications with what the Oilers are offering in return.

Campbell is in the middle of an eight-year, $56M deal with a salary-cap hit of $7.14M.
Source: Flyers Deal Jeff Carter To Jackets
The Flyers have traded star center Jeff Carter to the Blue Jackets, a source told ESPN.com on Thursday.
The Flyers will receive forward Jakub Voracek, the eighth overall draft pick Friday night and a third-round draft pick from the Blue Jackets.
Carter's agent, Rick Curran, told The Associated Press he was stunned by the news after being told last week that the Flyers were not discussing trading Carter to the Blue Jackets.
Bruins Explored Trading Thomas
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli admitted Friday morning that he had explored the possibility of trading goalie Tim Thomas last offseason.
He says he never got close to pulling the trigger on a deal.
Chiarelli said he had an agreement with Thomas and the goalie's agent, Bill Zito, to explore trade options even though the goalie said he didn't want to leave Boston.
"That's really where it ended," Chiarelli said. "There were some calls and I kept him in the loop at all times. He kept stressing he didn't want to leave. I said, 'I know. Let's just look at his options very briefly.' I know there were a lot of stories that flowed from it, but I can't stress enough the fact that Tim never wanted to leave.
"I wouldn't be doing my job if I at least didn't look at some things, and I did. You go through those things, on a number of fronts on a number of players. You just field stuff, you look at them and you talk to other teams. And at the end of the day you make the decision yay or nay, and here it was nay. It was an easy nay."
Thomas won the Conn Smythe trophy and is a Vezina frontrunner.
